On December 4, 2021 Robert Friedland, Chairman of Ivanhoe Electric, the parent company of VRB Energy Inc., was inducted into the American Mining Hall of Fame.
Mr. Friedland’s formal induction ceremony was held in Tucson, Arizona and attended by approximately 500 people. The American Mining Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding lifetime achievements advancing the American and/or global mineral resources industry.
His record of achievement in the mineral industry as an explorer and developer is unsurpassed and Sparton and its management would like to congratulate him on this well deserved recognition.
In 2016, Robert was inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame based on his dynamic and transformative successes in the Canadian and international mining industries during more than 30 years.
In the video interview, Robert outlines his multi-year, forward thinking, strategy for mineral commodities and use of renewable energy and electrification of the world’s ongoing lifestyle and industrial operations. Ivanhoe Electric’s majority ownership of VRB Energy (approx. 9.8% Sparton owned) and its ongoing progress in the energy storage field is consistent with and part of this strategy.
